Namun hal itulah yang terjadi di negara Indonesia tercinta ini. Futsal yang memang saat ini menjadi sutau olahraga yang digandrungi banyak orang tidak memiliki kompetisi tingkat nasional. Hal ini tentu membuat tim-tim besar yang sudah melanglang buana dalam dunia futsal seperti Electric PLN V-Sport FC Yogyakarta, Biangbola FC Jakarta, Tifosi FC Yogyakarta, Pro Arena FC Jakarta, IBM Jaya FC Depok, Mutiara Hitam FC Papua, Cibabat Riska FC Bandung, M-14 FC Jakarta, Goal FC Pekanbaru dan SWAP FC Jakarta marah lantaran mereka menilai Badan Futsal Nasional (BFN) tidak menjalankan perannya sebagaimana mestinya dengan tidak mengadakan kompetisi tingkat nasional.
"Hal inilah yang pada akhirnya memberikan inisiatif kepada 10 tim futsal tadi membentuk wadah sendiri guna menyelengggarakan kompetisi agar pembinaan pemain muda yang telah mereka lakukan tidak sia-sia, yaitu Indonesia Futsal Mandiri (IFM) yang bermaksud mengisi kekosongan kompetisi dan tidak bermaksud utnuk menyaingi BFN", jelas Yerico Umbas yang merupakan salah satu komisaris IFM."Kompetisi futsal IFM akan digelar pada medio Maret hingga Juli nanti", tambahnya.
Sementara itu, Direktur Utama PT IFM Mayjen TNII (Purn) Glenny Kairupan mengatakan, IFM menggelar kompetisi dengan harapan akan muncul pemain-pemain futsal yang andal dan nantinya bisa diambil oleh BFN untuk memperkuat Timnas Futsal Indonesia yang akan mengikuti berbagai event internasional.
